  • 1. About Fargo Area Sports

    Who are we?

    Fargo Area Sports (formerly Fargo Youth Baseball) was established in 2017 through the merger of Fargo Babe Ruth and Fargo Little League, supported by the Fargo Park District. We serve youth ages 5–18, offering baseball, fastpitch, and pickleball programs under the philosophy of “A Kid’s First Organization.”

  • 2. Who is Fargo Area Fastpitch?

    Established in fall 2022, Fargo Area Fastpitch is a youth fastpitch organization for ages 5-18. The organization was formed by merging Fargo Youth Baseball with several area fastpitch programs, including Fargo Lady Eagles, Fargo South, Fargo North, and now Diamond Academy as of November 1, 2023.


    Our mission is to provide the best experience for all youth fastpitch players, at all skill levels, under the guiding principle of a "Kid's First Organization."

  • 3. Registration

    Start Date: November 15th annually. Reminders sent via email, website, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and AdVenture Pack.


    End Date: Prior to March 1st. Late registrants pay a $25 fee and may be put on a waiting list if rosters are full.


    Travel Tryouts: Registration must be completed by January 15th. No refunds after tryouts begin.


    Registration Fees:


    8U – $175


    10U, 12U, 14U, 16/18U – $325


    Early Registration Discount: $10 off if registered before January 1st.


    Additional Travel Fees: Players selected for travel teams incur extra fees based on number of games/tournaments.


    Fundraising: Optional to offset costs: PushSave Fundraising

  • 4. Refund Policy

    League: Prior to close of registration (mid-March)


    Travel: Prior to first tryout date


    After deadlines: Refunds only granted for medical reasons

  • 5. Travel Fastpitch

    Available for 10U, 12U, 14U, 16/18U divisions. Players must try out. Selection determined by committee and head coach. Players not selected are placed on league teams, which may participate in outside games/tournaments.

  • 6. Diamond Academy & Sanford Power

    Diamond Academy has merged with FAS and provides competitive travel opportunities across ND, MN, and SD.

    Sanford Power provides specialized training included with registration.

  • 7. Little League All-Star Selection

    All-Star teams are selected based on:


    Skill level & ability


    Attitude, hustle, team spirit, leadership


    Character, integrity, sportsmanship


    Age 12 Only: Max 4 players per team (Little League rule).

    League Play: USA Fastpitch age chart


    Little League All-Star: Must follow Little League age chart

  • 9. Payments & Registration Options

    Accepts credit/debit cards online and in-office (processing fee may apply)


    In-person registration is available

  • 10. Team & Player Policies

    Guaranteed Spot: Register before March 1st


    Team Placement: Requests for coaches or teammates considered, not guaranteed


    Out-of-Area Players: Open to all, but Little League teams have residency restrictions

  • 11. Season Schedule

    Spring (Grades 6-8): Mid-March – End of May, ending tournament 3rd weekend of May

    Summer (Recreation, Travel, Little League): May 1 – End of August

    Fall Ball: Mid-August – Last week of September, 4-week double-header season on Sundays, run by Ballyard

  • 12. Games & Practices

    Recreation Teams: ~16 games per season

    Travel Teams: 32–40 games including league & tournaments


    Game Days:


    8U – Sundays, 4pm or 6pm


    10U – Thursdays 6pm/7:30pm + Sunday games


    12U – Tuesdays, doubleheaders at 6pm


    14U – Mondays, doubleheaders at 6pm


    16/18U – Wednesdays, doubleheaders at 6pm


    Practice: Minimum 1 per week. Schedule determined by coaches; fields are first come, first served.

  • 13. Cancellations & Rainouts

    Updates posted on website, Facebook, Twitter, and via text by 4 PM


    After 4 PM, decisions are made on-site by umpires


    Contact office only for non-rain related inquiries

  • 14. Equipment & Rules

    Bats: Must have USA or ASA logo

    Player Equipment: Glove, bats, cleats, helmet/facemask, pants, belts. Team bags include helmets, catchers gear, practice balls, game balls, tees, hitting nets, removable bases, and first aid kit

    Age Group Rules: See Rules Page for specifics

    Lost Items: Replacement visor/hat – $20

  • 15. Concerns & Issues

    Report all issues to FAS office via email (info@fargoareasports.com

    ) or phone


    24-Hour Rule: Wait 24 hours before contacting FAS after incident


    If issue is playing time, contact coach first before the office
