LODGING

The tournament committee has partnered with the Fargo-Moorhead Convention & Visitors Bureau (FMCVB) to secure competitive rates and reserve hotel room blocks for visiting teams.

To help keep registration fees low, all traveling teams staying in a hotel must book their rooms through the FMCVB Housing Bureau via EventConnect. Teams that do not book through this system will be required to pay a $500 buyout to participate in the tournament. If you are not staying in a hotel, you will not be charged the buyout fee.

All reservations must be made through the FMCVB Online Housing System. Tournament rates will not be available for reservations made directly with hotels.

Fargo Area Sports and the FMCVB have selected a variety of hotels at multiple locations and price points, ensuring every visiting team can find accommodations suitable for their families.

Team Managers/Coordinators: Please follow the instructions in the link above to set up your team’s room block. Be sure to read and understand the terms of the hotel contract, including cancellation policies. Fargo Area Sports is not responsible for hotel contracts, and all teams must adhere to the hotel’s terms and conditions. Please share this information with your team to avoid surprises.

After registering for the tournament, out-of-town teams are required to secure their hotel rooms through the Fargo-Moorhead Housing Bureau. The Housing Bureau acts as a personal reservation service, providing a one-stop-shop for all teams to ensure quality accommodations and reduce last-minute searches for available rooms. Please note that hotel availability is first-come, first-served, and popular hotels may fill quickly.

Once a team manager or representative submits their online application, the team will receive preliminary acceptance into the tournament. They will then be directed to the hotel link, where they can view available hotels, access hotel details, and request a room block.

4-6-3 FOUNDATION

The Medd family established the 4-6-3 Foundation with the Dakota Medical Foundation in memory of Liam Medd and to support the mission to end teen suicide.

Liam was a second baseman, and there is no greater defensive force multiplier in baseball than turning a double play….and for a second baseman that is the 4-6-3 double play. Liam has flipped the ball to us and it is our job to continue the play and end teen suicide.

The project’s goal is to connect youth and their parents, coaches and mentors with suicide prevention resources and techniques through engagement at youth sporting events, in schools, and in other youth organizations. Our goal is to help youth and families understand that there are not always symptoms or red flags leading to a suicide and to highlight the importance of access to resources, having the difficult conversation and education around mental health. In addition, through these conversations we want to help erase the stigma around mental health challenges and suicide and to build hope for our kids and families.
Suicide is the leading cause of death of young people (10-24) in the state of North Dakota and is the second leading cause of death for the same age group in the nation. It is our goal that teaming with other similar organizations, we can increase our impact on this community and region.

Reduce Stigma. Build Hope. End Suicide.
